Masonry, render and screed mortars hold the building together and protect it. Their class (M5, M10…) is proved on prisms tested in bending and compression.
All three tests are accredited under ISO/IEC 17025 (DPA certificate LT 069).

Sampling and what to send us
- Dry mortar: a sealed bag of at least 5 kg.
- Site mortar: prisms 40×40×160 mm cast in our moulds, or fresh mortar for us to cast.
What your test report contains
- A unique report number, the accredited laboratory’s details and the ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation mark for accredited tests.
- Sample identification, sampling details and the condition of the sample on receipt.
- The standard and method used for every test, with any deviation stated.
- Results with units, and comparison with the specified limits when you give them to us.
- Signature of the authorised laboratory staff.

What mortar class do I need?
The designer specifies it; M5 and M10 are common for masonry. Our test confirms whether the mortar delivered reaches it.
