How it is applied
-
Prepare the substrate
It must be flat, sound and free of loose debris, grease, oils, paints and wax. In spring and summer, cure renders for at least 1 week per cm of thickness and cementitious screeds for at least 28 days, unless made with Mapecem, Mapecem Pronto, Topcem or Topcem Pronto. Gypsum and anhydrite must be perfectly dry (max. residual humidity 0.5%, 0.3% for heating screeds) and treated with Primer G or Eco Prim T Plus.
-
Mix
Mix with clean water to a smooth, lump-free paste: 6.5-7 litres per 25 kg of grey, 7.3-7.8 litres per 25 kg of white. Rest for approximately 5 minutes and re-stir.
-
Apply
Spread a thin layer with the straight edge of the trowel, then immediately the required thickness with a notched trowel suited to the tile.
-
Back-butter where needed
On external tile floors and walls, and in swimming pools and basins filled with water, also spread adhesive on the back of the tile to ensure complete contact.
-
Lay and protect
There is no need to wet the tiles; dip only very dusty backs in clean water. Press firmly. If a skin forms, remove the adhesive and apply fresh material, and do not wet it. Adjust within 45 minutes. Protect from washing and rain for at least 24 hours, and from frost and strong sun for at least 5-7 days.
-
Grout and seal
Grout wall joints after 4-8 hours and floor joints after 24 hours with MAPEI cementitious or epoxy grouts. Seal expansion joints with MAPEI sealants.

Application precautions
- Do not use on walls or floors subject to extreme flexing or vibration (wood, fibre-cement, etc.)
- Do not use on metal surfaces
- Do not wet the adhesive once a skin has formed: water forms an anti-adhesive film
- Dampen surfaces with water to cool them if too warm or exposed to direct sunlight
- Strong sun, wind, high temperatures or a highly absorbent substrate can reduce the open time to just a few minutes

Frequently asked questions
How much do I need per m²?
Approx. 2-5 kg/m². A 25 kg bag therefore covers approximately 5 to 12 m².
Can it go over existing tiles?
Yes, tile on tile over existing ceramic or natural stone flooring, as long as it is well bonded to the substrate and has no cracks.
Is it suitable for outdoor use and swimming pools?
Yes, it is for interior and exterior bonding, and for small-sized tiles in swimming pools and basins. Back-butter the tiles in these cases, and fill basins and pools after 21 days.
When can the floor be used?
Floors take light foot traffic after approximately 24 hours. Surfaces are ready for use after approximately 14 days.
Which surfaces is it not suitable for?
Walls or floors subject to extreme flexing or vibration (wood, fibre-cement, etc.) and metal surfaces.
