Where it is used

  • Monolithic construction joints between fresh and hardened concrete
  • Bonding precast concrete elements and bonding steel to concrete
  • Filling cracks in concrete and sealing cracks in cement screeds
  • Construction joints for the structural reinforcement of beams and pillars
  • Construction joints on decayed industrial flooring, and rigid, waterproof joints such as concrete bed to tank walls
  • Reinforcement of beams by the béton plaqué technique

Why Eporip

  • Slightly thixotropic paste, applied by brush on horizontal and vertical surfaces
  • Polymerises without shrinkage
  • After curing it is waterproof, with excellent dielectric properties and high mechanical characteristics
  • Meets the requirements of EN 1504-9 and the minimum requirements of EN 1504-4

How it is applied

  1. Prepare the substrate

It must be perfectly clean, solid and strong. Remove loose parts, dust, cement laitance, form-release oils and paint by careful sandblasting or brushing. On metal, remove rust and grease, preferably by sandblasting to white metal.

  2. Mix

Pour component B (white) into component A (grey). Mix with a trowel for small quantities, or a drill with a low-speed stirrer for large batches, until uniformly grey. Do not use partial amounts.

  3. Apply

Apply with a flat trowel or brush on dry or slightly damp concrete, letting it penetrate well into uneven and porous areas. Place the fresh concrete within the open time.

  4. Seal cracks

For cracks wider than 0.5 mm, simply place the product, and spread sand over it if another product follows. Cracks narrower than 0.5 mm must first be widened and dusted.

Application precautions

  • Do not apply below +5°C
  • Do not use on wet surfaces; slightly damp is acceptable
  • Do not cast fresh concrete onto hardened Eporip
  • Do not use on dusty, crumbling or loose surfaces
  • The reaction generates considerable heat: apply soon after mixing and never leave the container unattended until it is empty

Frequently asked questions

How much is needed?

For construction joints, 0.5-0.7 kg/m² on a rough substrate and 1.0-2.0 kg/m² on a very uneven one. For cracks, 1.35 kg per litre of cavity.

How long is it workable?

60 minutes at +23°C, 90 minutes at +10°C and 40 minutes at +30°C. Fresh concrete must follow within the open time: 3-4 hours at +23°C.

Can it go on damp concrete?

It can be applied on dry or slightly damp concrete, but not on wet surfaces.

Can it seal hairline cracks?

Cracks narrower than 0.5 mm must be widened and dusted well before repair.
