Eco Prim Grip Plus
Multi-purpose bonding promoter primer for render, smoothing compounds and cementitious adhesives.
Supplied by SARP & LAB, the only authorised MAPEI distributor in Albania.
Where it is used
- Smoothing compounds on old ceramic, terrazzo and natural stone floors
- Laying ceramic and natural stone floors directly on top of old ceramic floors
- Non-absorbent surfaces and smooth surfaces such as epoxy or polyurethane resins
- Cement and lime-based plasters on concrete, brickwork and vibro-compressed concrete blocks
- Adhesion promoter for cementitious smoothing compounds on substrates treated with Primer MF or Eco Prim Silplus 1K without quartz sand
Why Eco Prim Grip Plus
- Ready to use, no dilution required
- Specific for smooth substrates with low absorbency: leaves a rough keying surface
- For indoor and outdoor use, on floors and walls
- Almost no odour, solvent-free and non-flammable
- EMICODE EC1 Plus and Blauer Engel DE-UZ113
- Contributes to the achievement of LEED credits
How it is applied
-
Prepare the substrate
It must be clean, dry, well-cured and free from oil, grease, cement laitance and loose parts. There is no need to wet the surface.
-
Check existing flooring
Make sure it is well bonded, with no cracks. Remove oil, wax and dust with a suitable cleaner such as UltraCare HD Cleaner, or abrade it. Remove detached areas and fill the gaps with Planitop Fast 330, Planipatch Xtra or other suitable products.
-
Apply
Apply by brush or roller, without diluting.
-
Wait until dry
Apply the next product once it is dry: 15-20 minutes before render, 30-60 minutes before smoothing compound or cementitious adhesive, depending on the substrate’s temperature, humidity and porosity.

Application precautions
- Do not use with rising damp or rising humidity, or on continuously immersed surfaces
- Not an adhesion promoter for smoothing compounds and cementitious adhesives on screeds, power-trowelled concrete and absorbent surfaces (use Eco Prim T Plus)
- On substrates treated with Primer MF or Eco Prim Silplus 1K without quartz sand, apply after complete drying and no later than 24 hours, for skimcoats of max. 10 mm, and only if no hardwood is planned
- Keep out of the reach of children and ensure good ventilation during and after use and drying
- In case of contact with skin or eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water

Frequently asked questions
Can tiles be laid over old tiles with it?
Yes. It is designed for laying ceramic and natural stone floors directly on top of old ceramic floors, provided the existing flooring is well bonded and has no cracks.
How much is needed per m²?
Between 0.20 and 0.30 kg/m², according to the absorption of the substrate.
How long before the next layer?
15-20 minutes before render and 30-60 minutes before smoothing compound or cementitious adhesive, depending on the substrate.
Can it be used on screeds?
Not as an adhesion promoter for smoothing compounds and cementitious adhesives on screeds or other absorbent surfaces: the datasheet directs you to Eco Prim T Plus.
Can it be used outdoors?
Yes, on internal and external floors and walls, but not with rising damp or on continuously immersed surfaces.
Is there a warranty?
