How it is applied
-
Prepare the surface
Substrates must be well-cured, sound, clean and dry, with no rising damp. Level with Planitop Fast 330 and remove wax or water-repellent treatments with UltraCare HD Cleaner or by abrasion. Use Eco Prim Grip Plus on old ceramic or natural stone, and Primer G on highly absorbent or chalky substrates.
-
Treat the details
Apply Mapeband or Mapeband PE 120 at expansion joints and joints between horizontal and vertical surfaces, bonded with the product. Use kits from the Drain range at drains, and Mapeband TPE bonded with Adesilex PG4 at structural joints.
-
First coat
Apply a thin, even coat of approx. 0.4 mm with a long-piled roller, brush or trowel. The product is supplied ready to use.
-
Second coat
Wait until the first coat is dry, darker and matt, approx. 1 hour at +23°C and 50% R.H. Apply a second coat perpendicular to the first, to form a continuous film.
-
Laying tiles
Tiles can be laid 4 hours after the second coat. Outdoors, use at least a C2S1 adhesive such as Keraflex Maxi S1 or Ultralite S1 Flex; indoors, at least a C2 such as Adesilex P9. Grout with Ultracolor Plus or Keracolor, and seal expansion joints with a MAPEI sealant.
