Mapelastic Turbo
Two-component, rapid-drying elastic cementitious mortar for waterproofing terraces and balconies, including at low temperatures and on substrates not completely dry.

- Balconies, terraces, flat roofs and swimming pools, before bonding ceramic, mosaic or natural stone coverings
- Terraces and balconies, by overlaying existing floor coverings before bonding new flooring
- Rapid waterproofing of concrete structures, including at low temperatures
- Cementitious screeds and old floor and wall coverings
- Cementitious sublayers not completely dry but sufficiently cured

How it is applied

Prepare the surface
Seal screed cracks with Eporip and level up to 3 cm with Planitop Fast 330. Consolidate dusty substrates with Primer 3296 diluted 1:1 with water. Existing coverings must be well bonded and clean: use UltraCare HD Cleaner to remove traces that affect adhesion.

Treat the details
Use Mapeband, Mapeband Easy or Mapeband SA at joints between horizontal and vertical elements and contraction joints, Mapeband TPE at structural joints, and kits from the Drain range at drainage points.

Mix
Pour component B (liquid) into a clean container and slowly add component A (powder), mixing for at least 3 minutes with a low-speed mechanical mixer. Do not mix by hand.

First coat and reinforcement
Apply a skim coat with the flat side of a trowel, then a coat with the notched side while still wet, and embed Mapenet 150 mesh. For better elongation and crack-bridging, use Mapetex Sel N fabric instead, in a first coat at least 1 mm thick.

Second coat
Apply with the flat side of the trowel when the first coat has hardened, approx. 1 hour in good weather. The total thickness must be at least 2 mm.

Bonding coverings
Wait 3 to 16 hours after the second coat, depending on the surrounding conditions. Use at least a C2 adhesive, or C2F for rapid work and low temperatures, a CG2 grout and a flexible MAPEI sealant.

Application precautions
- Apply only above +5°C
- Do not apply more than 2 mm per coat
- Do not add cement, aggregates or water
- Do not apply on lightweight substrates or on substrates not cured as specified
- In hot weather, keep powder and liquid out of the sun before use
- Place the reinforcement on the first coat while it is still wet

Frequently asked questions
How much do I need per m²?
Approx. 2.4 kg/m² for two coats with reinforcement embedded between them, and more on uneven substrates. On that basis a 36 kg kit covers approximately 15 m² and an 18 kg kit approximately 7.5 m².
How soon can tiles be bonded?
3 to 16 hours after the second coat, depending on the surrounding conditions. With a rapid adhesive from the MAPEI range, surfaces can be waterproofed and tiled within 24 hours.
Can it go on a screed that is not completely dry?
Yes, if the cementitious sublayer is sufficiently cured. Do not apply it on substrates that have not been cured as specified.
Can it go over existing tiles?
Yes, if existing ceramic, stone or terracotta coverings are well bonded and free of grease, oil, wax or paint. Use a specific product such as UltraCare HD Cleaner to remove any traces that could affect adhesion.
What is the lowest application temperature?
Apply only above +5°C. The application range is +5°C to +35°C for both the air and the substrate.
