Mapetex Sel N
Non-woven polypropylene fabric for reinforcing Mapelastic Turbo and Mapelastic Smart waterproofing membranes.
Supplied by SARP & LAB, the only authorised MAPEI distributor in Albania.
Where it is used
- Large-scale containment basins and retaining walls
- Foundations
- Hanging gardens and flat roofs
- Swimming pools
- Bathrooms and shower cubicles
- Terraces
Why Mapetex Sel N
- Further improves toughness, punch-resistance, ultimate elongation and crack-bridging of Mapelastic Turbo and Mapelastic Smart
- Unaltered by, and resistant to, the alkalis contained in cement
- Resistant to atmospheric agents and dimensionally stable
- Light and easy to handle, and easy to cut
- Adapts to the profile of all types of substrate
How it is applied
-
Prepare the substrate
The surface must be sound and perfectly clean. Seal cracks in cementitious screeds with Eporip and level up to 2 cm with Planitop Fast 330. Existing floors must be well bonded. Dampen absorbent surfaces.
-
First layer
Apply a 1-2 mm thick uniform layer of Mapelastic Turbo or Mapelastic Smart, by hand or by spray.
-
Lay the fabric
While the product is still fresh, lay Mapetex Sel N and press it firmly with a flat-bladed trowel so that it is perfectly wetted. Adjacent sheets must overlap by at least 5 cm.
-
Second layer
Apply a uniform 1-2 mm thick second layer to completely cover the fabric.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a roll cover?
A roll is 25 m long and 1 m wide, so approximately 25 m² before the overlaps of at least 5 cm.
Which membranes is it used with?
Mapelastic Turbo and Mapelastic Smart, for which it is particularly recommended.
Where does it go in the system?
Between two uniform layers of membrane, each 1-2 mm thick: lay it in the first layer while fresh, then cover it completely with the second.
Is there a warranty?
If required, MAPEI can provide a warranty for each product it sells. Contact us about your case.
